The Directors of the Board of Educang Ltd. are appointed by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane. Current directors are:
Mr Barry L Kelly – Chairman
BCom (Qld), CPA, FAIM, FAICD, JP (Qual)
Barry was appointed Chairman of EDUCANG Limited on 2nd October 2009. He is a graduate of both the University of Queensland and the Harvard Business School.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His career spans more than 35 years in the minerals and resources sector in Australia, Asia, UK, Europe and South America.
Barry is now a company director who has served on company boards in Australia, Austria, Germany and Japan. He has been a member of the Anglican Church Grammar School Council since 1990 and Chairman since 2004.
Mr Ian D Turner
B Econ., B.Com. (Qld), FCPA, MAICD
Ian has a wide and varied commercial and educational administrative background. He served as Bursar of the Queensland Agricultural College (now UQ Gatton Campus) from 1976 until 1984.
In 1984, he took up the position of Commercial Director of Churchie (The Anglican Church Grammar School) and served in that role until he retired in April 2008.
Ian has been a member of Diocesan Services Commission of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane since 2005. In June 2008, he was elected to the position of Treasurer of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane, a role he still occupies.
Dr Murray J. Evans
B.Com; MED; PHD
Murray has a long and distinguished career in education in Australia and overseas in both secondary and tertiary institutions. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Education and a Doctorate in Pedagogy and Educational Administration.
He completed 16 years of outstanding service as Principal of Somerville House in 2003. Murray has held senior positions in the independent schools sector including President of the Independent Schools Queensland Association and Deputy Chair of the Qld Independent Schools Block Grant Authority.
He currently is Director of the highly successful Evans Educational Consulting Pty Ltd and a member of various school boards.
Mr RJ (Jack) DUFF
FCA
Jack is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants having retired after 25 years as a partner of the international professional services firm Deloitte, where he established and lead the Corporate Reorganisation Group in the Brisbane office. He now consults to the firm and other businesses.
Jack is a former “Churchie" Council member where he was chair of the Finance, Facilities & Fundraising Committee and the board of Oaklands Child Care & Kindergarten.
He is an Executive Committee member of The CHI.L.D Association which operates the Glenleighden School for children with language disorders, an outreach programme throughout Queensland and the Lets Talk Hub providing one-on-one therapy & assessment for children while empowering parents to support their child’s development.
