Co-Education at The Springfield College is not just about educating boys and girls together. It’s far more than that. In our relationships with students, parents, staff and society, we strive for Cooperation, Collaboration and Collegiality, so that we build a community which is mutually supportive and provides the best environment for your children. We value academic endeavour, respect and courtesy, and optimism. As a Prep to Year 12 coeducational school of EDUCANG Ltd, a partnership of the Uniting and Anglican Churches, Christian beliefs and values are central to our ethos. We welcome children of all families who accept this ethos, regardless of religious or ethnic origins.
The right choice of school can greatly influence adult attitudes and values. At The Springfield College, we are acutely aware that, in addition to their academic achievement, our school environment contributes to the development of our students’ social relationships, their creativity, physical development and their spiritual understanding. A range of innovative academic, cultural and sporting programs are designed to help children discover and fulfil their potential.
• From Prep to Year 7, all students learn Mandarin Chinese giving them an understanding of Chinese language and culture which will provide our students with a competitive edge in embracing challenges in future international markets.
• Recent research shows that musical training from a young age enhances learning capacity and memory, so students from Prep to Year 7 learn a musical instrument.
• The Dimensions of Learning curriculum framework develops knowledge management and thinking skills necessary for academic success and life long learning.
• Technology is integrated across the curriculum and modern facilities have been designed for a rapidly developing technological environment.
• Our links with tertiary institutions offer students the opportunity to study challenging curriculum at university standard.
• The Learning Enhancement Program caters for the diverse learning needs of all students.
The Springfield College started from small beginnings in 1998 when the Springfield Land Corporation invited the governing body of Forest Lake College to establish a "sister school" in the area. Since that time, the fully air-conditioned Junior School Campus has stretched to accommodate students from Prep to Year 12, prior to the commencement of work on the Main Campus on Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road.
We see an exciting future ahead for The Springfield College and its students and hope your family will choose to share it with us.
